Happy Friday evening, it’s Christian from the RevGrowth newsletter.
I’m emailing you a 3-minute insight that you can implement today to start generating more leads from your outbound campaigns.
Today’s newsletter is a quick insight on how we’re adding 125.7% more contact data for our local targeting lead lists. (+ a surprise at the end for you :) )
How To Add 125.7% More Contact Data To Your Lead Lists
There’s a sentiment in the cold email space that targeting non-business emails (ex. @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, etc) is an absolute no no for deliverability.
From our experience, we’ve found targeting these emails are an absolute GOLD MINE for not only generating more responses but also unlocking significantly more TAM when targeting local businesses.
Here’s a real example of a lead list where we uncovered 125.7% more contact data for a particular market:
Business emails found: 3,621

Non-business/No contact name emails found: 4,553

I’ll take 125.7% more contact data even if we don’t have some of the names any day, not to mention as well the reply rates we’ve seen from these emails have outperformed business emails at times:
Business emails email to lead ratio: 94.94 / 1

Non-business/No contact email to lead ratio: 54.97 / 1

Almost a 2X in positive replies – very solid.
So how do we go about creating campaigns around these non-business email leads?
First, we’ll set up these campaigns in a separate instance just for personal emails that EmailBison.com offers.
The reason the EmailBison team offers setting up a separate instance outside your main business one is to not risk your reputation as sending to personals is a more “risky” sending practice (we haven’t run into issues yet thankfully).
Secondly, a good portion of the emails may be missing or have inaccurate contact names.
In this case, we just don’t add a first name variable.
And honestly, no one really cares. Haven’t really seen a drop in replies from not mentioning their name.
Other than that, we build our campaigns the same as we would targeting normal business emails.

I’m sure a lot of you are wondering what tools to actually use to do this, so here’s the breakdown:
